About
The National Underwater Robotics Challenge is a remotely controlled underwater robotics competition. It is an extracurricular science, technology, engineering and math program. The competition emphasizes real-world hands-on activities that motivate students to take on tough challenges in a fun and exciting way. It is a catalyst for inspiration in young people. A perfect example of how this competition impacts students is shown in the career path of Eduardo Moreno. He participated in NURC in 2008 as a student from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He later attended the University of Arizona where he continued working on his remotely operated vehicle and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering. Stanford University was next on his journey and he received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering & MSNE. Eduardo then went on to form his own company, SeaDrone. He credits NURC as one of the reasons for helping him to realize him dream.
