Event history

We hosted our first event, we coordinated a trunk-or-treat in the STEM center’s parking lot before sunset, as it was the safest option for other FTC teams to attend. Even though this is Binary Bots’ second year competing, all of the members of the team are rookies, which is why we wanted to use this event to share our resources with other teams and start new connections with other local teams. This way, we could connect with their team, build relationships, and share our playing field. We accomplished this by teaming up with Da Geese of Freedom, our sibling team. FTC Team 17062 attended the event to test their robot on the playing field, which was considered a success.

Another outreach event we participated in was the Jeep Hack. This was organized by Magical Motors and hosted by FRC Team 6413 and Collegiate Robo Sub Team Desert WAVE. We, along with our sibling team Da Geese of Freedom, adapted toy jeeps and made them accessible for children with motor disabilities called Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy affects an individual’s movement. By The team rewiring the jeep, the children could drive the vehicle by pressing a button that was attached to the steering wheel.

The Chandler Farmers Market was an outreach event where BinaryBots, Da Geese of Freedom, and Degrees of Freedom allowed children, who may not have access to things like FIRST, put their hands on FIRST. We let people drive the robot to achieve goals, like picking up cones and oranges.
